Our First Week in Bangkok Looked a Little Something Like This

Sawatdee Kah! Hi! Here's a quick view of our first Thai experiences!

The food here is pretty awesome. 80% of my diet now consists of tropical fruits and the other 20% is spicy dishes that I can never finish without having to blow my nose 10 times. Even the salad is spicy here! Alex is in food heaven.

Our hotel is equally as awesome. The best part is the rooftop bar. The pictures don't do it justice, but the 360 degree view is incredible and the breeze makes you forget it's 90 degrees and humid! The $12 drinks are so worth it. This city is so huge it makes Seattle look like Concord!

Kersten (above) tried to take Kelly and I to a meditation class at a Buddhist temple, but we got distracted on the beautiful boat taxi there and missed our stop. Instead we rode around on the boat all night which was probably way more fun and I got this night shot of the Rama VIII bridge over the Chao Praya river that runs through Bangkok. Kelly (who somehow avoided her picture being taken) is another field service rep's wife so she and I will be having many adventures together while the boys play with the airplane!

We went for a team dinner at a Thai restaurant where I think we ordered everything on the menu and then passed it all around. I can't pretend to know what I was eating but most of it was delicious. The real fun started after 3 or 4 beer tubes were consumed and the dancing on stage began!

There has only been 2 important lessons we've had to learn so far:

1. Drinking your beer with ice when you're outside of A/C is a must. Drinking fast is also important.

2. Be careful not to drink too much if you're out of the westernized areas of town or using this type of toilet may become a necessity. Never again. Just, no.

Thanks for visiting me :) I hope you're having an awesome day!

xoxo, Jenna
